Enjoy this video from the Vallarta Breeze Yoga Studio in Puerto Vallarta Mexico: Embrace the Calm: Your 19-Minute Yin Yoga Quickie
Welcome to another delightful session of our Yoga Quickie Series! Today, we’re diving into a soothing 19-minute Yin Yoga practice that will leave you feeling grounded, relaxed, and rejuvenated. Whether you’re squeezing this into a busy day or winding down in the evening, this quickie is designed to bring you peace and tranquility.
Supported Child’s Pose (Balasana) with a Bolster
We begin our journey in the comforting embrace of Supported Child’s Pose. Using a bolster under your torso and head, this pose becomes even more nurturing. As you settle into Balasana, allow your forehead to rest gently on the bolster, and feel the gentle stretch along your spine. Breathe deeply, letting go of any tension in your shoulders and back. Imagine you’re melting into the earth, supported and safe. This is your moment to reconnect with your breath and set the tone for the practice ahead.
Deer Pose (Mrigasana)
Next, we transition into Deer Pose, a wonderful hip opener that invites a sense of ease and flexibility. As you settle into this pose, notice how your hips and lower back respond. Yin Yoga is all about finding stillness and surrendering to the pose, so let gravity do the work here. Close your eyes if it feels right, and take slow, mindful breaths. Each exhale is an opportunity to release any tightness or resistance. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to use props or adjust the pose to suit your body’s needs. This practice is all about honoring where you are today.
Reclining Bound Angle Pose (Supta Baddha Konasana) with a Bolster
We conclude our session with the deeply restorative Supta Baddha Konasana. With your hips on the ground and your torso and head supported by a bolster, this pose is a gentle invitation to open your heart and hips. As you lie back and bring the soles of your feet together, allow your knees to fall open naturally. Place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly, feeling the rise and fall of your breath. This is your time to soak in all the benefits of your practice. Let your body relax completely, and enjoy the stillness.
Embrace the Yin
Yin Yoga is a beautiful practice of patience and surrender. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most profound transformations happen when we allow ourselves to be still. As you move through these poses, listen to your body and honor its wisdom. There’s no rush, no need to push. Just breathe, relax, and let go.
Thank you for joining me in this Yin Yoga Quickie. Remember, you are exactly where you need to be. Your practice is perfect just as it is. Until next time, keep shining your light and embracing the calm within.
