Welcome to Quickie #22 from the stunning Vallarta Breeze Yoga Studio in Puerto Vallarta! This 15-minute session is designed to invigorate your body and mind, perfect for those moments when you need a quick yet effective yoga practice. In this flow, we’ll guide you through a series of Sun Stretches, Sun Salutation A and B, Bridge Pose, Wheel Pose, and some gentle stretching to leave you feeling refreshed and energized.

Sun Stretches: Awakening the Body

We begin with Sun Stretches, a gentle way to wake up the body and prepare for the more dynamic movements to come. These stretches help to increase flexibility, improve circulation, and set a mindful tone for your practice. Focus on your breath as you move through each stretch, feeling the warmth and energy building within.

Sun Salutation A (Surya Namaskar A)

Next, we flow into Sun Salutation A, a foundational sequence in many yoga practices. This series of poses is designed to warm up the entire body, linking breath with movement. Each pose flows seamlessly into the next, creating a moving meditation that enhances strength, flexibility, and balance. Remember to move at your own pace, honoring your body’s limits.

Sun Salutation B (Surya Namaskar B)

Building on the energy from Sun Salutation A, we transition into Sun Salutation B. This sequence adds a few more challenging poses, such as Chair Pose (Utkatasana) and Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I), to further engage your muscles and deepen your practice. Sun Salutation B is excellent for building stamina and endurance, making it a great addition to your morning routine.

Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)

After the dynamic sun salutations, we move into Bridge Pose. This backbend is fantastic for opening the chest, shoulders, and hip flexors while strengthening the back and glutes. Bridge Pose also stimulates the thyroid gland, promoting a sense of balance and well-being. Hold the pose for a few breaths, feeling the gentle stretch and lift in your spine.

Wheel Pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana)

For those looking to deepen their backbend practice, Wheel Pose is a wonderful challenge. This pose requires strength and flexibility in the arms, legs, and back. It opens the heart and shoulders, providing a powerful stretch and a boost of energy. If Wheel Pose feels too intense, you can always return to Bridge Pose or try a supported variation.

Gentle Stretching: Cooling Down

We conclude our session with some gentle stretching to cool down the body and release any remaining tension. These stretches help to improve flexibility and prevent muscle soreness. Take this time to connect with your breath, allowing your body to relax and absorb the benefits of your practice.
